Why is Scottish Learning Disability Week important to you?
Scottish Learning disability week is important because it gets people with learning disabilities voices heard and it raises awareness of that we are the same as non-disabled people.
What does “being seen” mean to you?
Being seen means being normal and people with learning disabilities do exist and are part of the community and you like to be seen in the community more.
Tell us about a time you felt left out?
I felt like I was not part of the community when leaving school.
I felt frustrated that I didn’t get the right support to find a job.
More interaction with Job coaches and the community and what is out there is what could have been different.
More Jobs coaches in school and more interaction in the community for school leaves.
