Why is Scottish Learning Disability Week important?

People with learning disabilities in Scotland are often treated unfairly

They may not get the support they need at school.

It’s harder for them to find work and earn money.

Scottish Learning Disability Week is coordinated by the Scottish Commission for People with Learning Disabilities (SCLD).

SCLD works with people with learning disabilities and partner organisations to create a meaningful week, one that celebrates people with learning disabilities and helps break down barriers, challenging how people think, making Scotland a better, fairer, more equal place for everyone.
