A pledge is a promise to make things better.
Think about one thing you can do to help people with learning disabilities feel seen, heard and included.
Your pledge can be big or small. The important thing is that you will do it.
Examples:
I / we will provide Easy Read versions of all information.
Follow the steps to pledge
- Choose your pledge:
- What will I do?
- How will I do it?
- When will I do this?
- How will I know I’ve achieved this?
- Download the pledge card and take a photo holding your pledge
- Register your pledge on the Wall of Action
- Download your supporter badge and proudly display your support on social media (the link will be available to you when the SLDW team approves your pledge)
Your pledge will join hundreds of others from across Scotland, showing how we are all taking action.
Every pledge helps create change.
Together, we can build a Scotland where everyone belongs.
- Organise an event, you could host an in-person or online Conversation Café to talk about inclusion
- Use our resources to start meaningful conversations
- Promote your event on our website and social media
Check our events page to join online or in-person sessions
Scottish Learning Disability Week is a great time to share your experience and call for change.
We are asking individuals and organisations to share “Why Scottish Learning Disability Week matters to me/us”
If you want to write your story in a blog, record it in a video, draw us a picture, we want to see it, share it and celebrate it. Let’s get creative!
