7th -13th September 2026
Scottish Learning Disability Week is a national weeklong celebration of inclusion. The week will always be held in the second week of September.
Why is Scottish Learning Disability Week important?
People with learning disabilities in Scotland are often treated unfairly.
- They may not get the support they need at school.
- It’s harder for them to find work and earn money.
- They don’t always get proper healthcare.
- They’re often excluded from community life.
- Their voices are not always heard in decisions about their own lives.
This makes life harder than it should be.
